Jonathan Pillai is the co-inventor of our biopsy technology and has been an advisor to Indio Labs for clinical and intellectual property affairs since April 2014. He has earned a Masters’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Ohio State University. Jon conducted his post-doctoral research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also attended Stanford University and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 2012 for a specialized Fellowship in Biomedical Device Innovation. Until February 2017, he served as Assistant Professor at the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute in Faridabad, India, where he continues to hold an adjunct faculty position. Prior to coming on board at Omya in October 2018, Jon led bioengineering research at Jiva Sciences Private Limited, a Bengaluru-based biotech start-up, where he directed a multi-disciplinary team building Jiva’s flagship opto-fluidic flow cytometry platform. At Omya, Jon is primarily responsible for overseeing the biopsy product portfolio through clinical and regulatory pathways, while also serving on the board of directors.

He trained at St. John’s Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore (2009-2011), a Stanford-India Biodesign (SIB) Fellow 2012, and holds an MBA degree in Entrepreneurship and Hospital Management (NIBM,2013). His core expertise lies in the process of identifying and analyzing unmet clinical needs for quick development of low-cost and high quality medical devices, and teaching/ training the Biodesign process. Since 2010, he has co-invented and developed 18 affordable medical devices addressing the unmet needs in the Indian healthcare system, many of which have been taken over by indigenous companies, while some have formed startup companies for further development and commercialisation. Dr. Jagdish Chaturvedi is currently Founder and Director of HiiiH Innovations Private Limited. He continues his clinical career as a Sinus Specialist at Fortis Hospital, Bangalore as Visiting Consultant in Ear nose and throat surgery. He is recognized as one of the 35 innovators under the age of 35 by the MIT technology review 2016. He is also a stand-up comedian, popularized by his YouTube channel “Jagdish Chaturvedi” and is the author of the best selling book on medical device innovations called “Inventing Medical Devices – A perspective from India”, ” The benefits of failing successfully” and “One year of Stand up comedy”.Dr. Jagdish Chaturvedi

Subrahmanyam Goparaju holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology from National Institute of Technology in India. From June 1988 to December 2013, Mr. Goparaju served as Senior Vice President and a member of the Executive Council of Infosys Limited, a corporation that provides business consulting, information technology and outsourcing services, where he was responsible for the company’s technology research and innovation department. Mr. Goparaju is a co-founder of LeaderAmp Inc. USA, a startup focused on helping organizations in accelerated leadership development. He is also a co-founder of Excubator Consulting, India, a startup incubator and corporate venturing advisory company. Siraj received a Master’s Degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in Product Design Engineering and completed his fellowship in Biomedical Device Innovation from Stanford University and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 2012. Siraj has almost 20 years of experience in the medical device industry and holds eleven medical device patents and various other patent-pending technologies. Before joining Omya, He served as chief operating officer of Geneva Innovations International Pvt. Ltd., a product development consultancy in Bangalore, India, from December 2002 to December 2011.
